Great place to bring the family.
I'm at the Legion in the park and while it's very echo-y (children screaming while playing is horrible), the place is otherwise great! Even the bathrooms are in decent shape. The park is decked out in lights for Christmas and is SO pretty. Overall it's a good place for small parties.
Not a bad place to go with kids in a pinch. The parking lot is blocked off for some reason and the gravel is rough on the vehicles. I know soccer fields are easy to build, but you are kind of taking advantage of the situation here. Build in a little sporting diversity and some better play options for the youngsters and it would be a great park.
I use the walking path fairly often and once found that a bunch of bees had made a hive in the water fountain, and it was taken care of the next day. Drive slowly! There are children. Also, lots of potholes in the parking lot that will damage your car. I wish somebody would grade the dang parking lot.
On every 4th of July we attend our towns fireworks, which I have to say rival any big city fireworks. We have a simple but beautiful parade in the afternoon, and in between the park has venders offering food to gadgets, and live music. If you ever want to enjoy the small town feel, this is the place to go.
